Degree
I have no idea how to comment on my own text post :s
My brain is well and truly frazzled.
But… in reply to fifteenjanuary, I’m currently studying for a History degree at university (:
Most of the time I really do enjoy my degree. History encompasses so much: economics, politics, geography, literature, theology, sociology…which is perfect for me as I easily get bored of doing the same thing all the time. I’m also super nosy curious so I love finding out things that have happened.
Having said that though, it is a LOT of work. Most people think all History students do no work given as we only have a maximum of 9 hours of lectures/seminars per week. And for the most part, they’re probably right (I did nothing for the first half of last term/semester). But we do actually have a lot of essays to write, lots of books to read…and I’m paying dearly with sixteen hour library days in the run up to exams for doing nadaa :( grrr, (next year though, it won’t be like this! hahaa).
As for what I want to do when I graduate, the running joke with History students is that it’s essentially a degree that people take when they have no idea what they want to do in life. One of the main reasons why I chose History is probably for this reason. hahaa. I wanted a traditional degree that was well respected, but one that would leave me with choice when I graduate. Having said that, I think I’m probably leaning towards fashion/lifestyle journalism (:
Thankss for providing me with a much welcome distraction. Weirdly enough, doing this has reminded me that I do actually like my degree, however much I’m hating revision now (: xx
Depression :(
I’ve been in the library for fifteen hours now… what is life.
